Want to be taken back in time to the late 90’s/early 2000’s? Washington, D.C.'s Pop-up Bar called Rewind Y2K will do just that! Located in DC’s vibrant neighborhood at Dupont Circle inside the retro-themed Decades night club, Rewind Y2K showcases seven of my specialty cocktails, each tailored to fit the bar’s theme and transport you back in time with every sip.
When naming each cocktail, I pulled inspiration from 90’s and 00’s movies, music hits, and popular music groups. When ordering you libation, you can expect imaginative cocktails options such as the “Kill Bill”, the “Red Hot Chili Pepper”, or the “Spice Girls”. These featured specialty retro cocktails include fun spirit bases like Absolut Citron, Absolut Mandarin, Jameson, Martell, and Beefeater’s newest strawberry gin, Beefeater Pink. To top it all off, I brought back retro garnishes, light up cubes, retro straws and even red solo cups to match with the décor of this fun pop-up concept.
The cherry on top (or should I say apple) is you can even look forward to the big come back for the apple martini with the signature cocktail appropriately and creatively called the “Return of the Mac”.
More information on my cocktails and this new pop-up bar can be found in the Washington City Paper’s article D.C.'s New Pop-Up Bar Pays Tribute To All Things Y2K, or DC Eater’s Pop-up guide.
Rewind Y2K will be open through the end of May.
