In America, Gin & Tonic’s this may seem pretty basic, but in Spain these cocktails are works of art.

Typically a Spanish gin tonic will be served in a large, stemmed glass and some bars and restaurants will have dozens of different varieties. Each will unite traditional or custom gins with unique tonics and great ice while garnishes will be complementary, fresh and bold.

To recreate these beauties, start with the ice. Make large cubes from well-filtered or distilled water.

Next pick your gin. Use one of our favorites like Beefeater, or maybe something more obscure like Malfy.

Choose a great tonic. I suggest a natural version like Fever Tree or Q Drinks. Finally add some fresh garnishes. Juniper berries, citrus, and herbs like mint or rosemary are good ones to try.

Now invite some friends to enjoy the fruit of your labor. Your concept of a gin & tonic will be forever changed.
